And every other company!
False analogy. Software =/= Hardware. When you buy a disc-based game, the disc is merely a medium that allows you access to that game. You DO NOT own the game!
I'm one of the people who were looking forward to buying an Xbox One but now that they've changed to the 1998 model of disc-based gaming I'm not as interested as I was at first. By reversing their policies now the industry is gonna be held back for the next 10 years because of all the whiners who don't want to get with the times and want to live in the past.
Anyone who wants to keep playing disc-based games for the next 10 years are nothing but luddites. They&...
What makes you think if they wanted to spy on you they couldn't already do it with your Laptop, Tablet, Smart Phone and anything that has a camera and an internet connection. You better live in a cave I guess!
Did you even read the article or the official statement? "Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions."
You just love to hate anything that says Xbox on the title. Get a life bro..I mean seriously.
That feature is still there but the family sharing feature is gone because of removing the 24hr online check.
Yes, I'm going all digital...Why so defensive? Admit it, you're stuck in the past and afraid of change so you bitch whenever someone moves your cheese. I'm not lazy, unlike you I'm forward thinking and see the potential of going all digital and being always connected in an always connected world. Game developers see that and that's why a lot of the games announced incorporate a critical online component in them.
Now, I just hope MS don't release a Kine...
I find it "interesting" that you didn't mention having to pay to play the online multiplayer portion of games!
Congratulations to all whiners! You wanted an Xbox 360 V2.0 and you got one. I'm disappointed by this backward change. But as they say you can't have your cake and eat it. Thanks to all of you who are still stuck in the past methods of Disc-based gaming we can't have nice things like the family sharing feature at launch.
Anyway, if I ever buy an Xbox One all my game purchases are gonna be digital. If there's one thing I love about gaming on my PC, it's the...
Yes. There's a difference. I know this is about the PS4 but N4G was up in arms when MS said the same thing about the X1 let alone the fact it's also the same as the X360 and PS3 right now.
Yes if you create a US account you'll be able to access that country's store from your country (in your case Bahrain) but it doesn't mean you'll be able to access everything from that store. For instance, you might be able to download Netflix buy will not be able to ...
They already said it's not IP based and not to mention the official statement states clearly that any one who has access to your shared library can play from anywhere "regional restrictions will apply.. I think".
Phill Spencer also confirmed that even if people weren't family they'll get "creative" and use this feature to their advantage.
A negative Xbox One rumor, N4SF vote "Hopefully"
A positive Xbox One rumor, N4SF vote "IMPOSSIBRU!!"
@Pittoo Is that what happens after you've had sex with your boyfriend? Or maybe it's just your use of the Sony Move that causes it?
Actually, Major Nelson is one of the few nice Xbox representatives. Even Angry Joe said he was very nice to him despite Angry Joe himself being an asshole to him in the past. You guys just love to bash anyone and anything Xbox-related.
It wouldn't surprise me if you bashed Phill Harrison to oblivion now after worshipping him when he was with Sony.
I come to N4G to see the latest gaming news but it's over run by overzealous Sony fanatics that trying to...
But GDDR5... and The cloud?
This is the first step for going digital-only. In 7-8 years when the new consoles are released I'd be surprised if they're still going to be using disc-based games. Everything is moving to the cloud and when 1/10Gbps internet connections are the norm there would be no need for any kind of disc-based media.
MS is just preparing everyone for the next gen(if there's one after X1&PS4) where everything is going to be digital only. Right now MS is doing the industry...
All of the sudden the cloud is the best thing ever...because Sony!
OMG! You Sony fanboys never cease to amaze me.. So now that Sony is charging for MP it's MS fanboy's fault? Why don't you vote with your money and not buy the PS4 just like those who aren't happy with the Xbox One policies and not buying it?
You have a choice and there are alternatives that offer MP for free (PC/WiiU).
And when Sony embraces the same DRM policies as the XOne in 7 years with their new console you'll blame MS fanboys again. ...
Two in the back and one on the left side when you're facing the console.
I don't even understand anyone who's going to be buying a "next-gen" console and not planning to use it online in the first place. Many of the games shown at E3 had online multiplayer as a key component of the experience. I'm telling you this now, as "next-gen" progresses, more and more games will incorporate online play as a critical part for the complete experience. When you play offline "exclusively" you'll be missing out... a lot!
